Oh William, Oh William, I've been to the sea-side
I saw a four-'oss Sharrybang. Thinks I 'I'll have a ride'
The fare was eighteen pence I know, it's a lot of money to me
But yer can't do things on the cheap, William, when your in Societee
The company was werry choice, not 'aughty like and proud
But all so haffable and nice, yet never nothing loud
For William, I tells yer straight, for I allers speak my mind
Wot I liked about that party was, they was hall of them so refined
Wot I liked about that party was, they was hall of them so refined.

Chorus: Then it's 'Oh! I sai' we was that gai!
You should 'ave 'eard us 'ow we sang
With a hi! HI! Hi! get out of the wai
Of the Four-'oss Sharrybang.

There was ten old ladies all sittin' of in a row
Each suckin' of a peppermint drop
And each had a bottle of something she called 'Ome made ginger-pop
There was five young gents with their arms
Around the waists of five young women who sang
Hi-tid-di-hi-ti the 'ole of the way on board that Sharrybang
There was one young gent with a concertina, I tell yer 'e could play
You should 'ave 'eard him give us 'Ome sweet 'Ome
Well there it made me cry
Then 'e played a sort of fun'ral march, it was sad but never mind
That 'igh class music is a little melancholy but it's always so refined
That 'igh class music is a little melancholy but it's always so refined

Chorus:

There was one old lady says to me,
'Young man! would you like to 'ave a drop'
She said 'It's werry comfortin' It's 'ome made ginger-pop.'
She said, 'It's only the peppermint as makes it taste that strong.'
I said, 'You're a nice old 'cup of tea.' She said, 'Oh go along.'
She'd a green plush hat with a large sunflower
And a feather of 'eavenly blue
Says she, 'young man, I'm thinkin' that my 'at would just suit you.'
So we both changed 'ats, oh 'ow they larf'd and chaff'd but never mind
Wot I like about that party was they was all of them so refined
Wot I like about that party was they was all of them so refined.
