THE GREAT MARCH KING

Have you ever heard of Sousa? If you haven't, hear me please
He's a great musician who's a marvelous man at melodies
As a March composer really, he can give the world a start
I'm in love with him sincerely, he has fairly won my heart.
All jokes apart,

Chorus: You should hear his base trombones (bones, bones, bones, bones)
They beat all the world, you bet (bet, bet, bet, bet)
You should hear the silvery tones (tones, tones, tones, tones)
Brought out by his solo clarinet (net, net, net, net)
Every one who sees him owns (owns, owns, owns, owns)
He knows how to make his marches ring (ring, ring)
And the Johnnies say (Johnnies say) night and day (night and day)
'Who's-ah! - Sousa? Why the Great March King.' (March King)

You have never heard of this may be, tho' 'twill sound absurd to some
When a little tiny baby his Mamma bought him a drum
Nightly, often till a late time, to reherse a roll he'd start
In two-four and then six-eight time, bless his little baby heart

When he grew a wee bit older - old enough to walk alone
He went to his Ma and told her he would like a big trombone
In about a week, with practice he knew how to 'lip' and 'blow'
And within a month, the fact is, he could play Allegretto
I guess that's so!
