THE PREHISTORIC MAN

div

I'm really very harmless, no one need have any fears
Preserved in clay you know I lay, for twenty thousand years
I live in a museum, and the entrance it is free
Just walk in at the front-door if you want to call on me.

Chorus: And I'm on show in the day time
I'm off show at night
My flint-head spear is polished
And my manners polished quite
A Paleolithic, imagine if you can
A most terrific, tho' pacific, Prehistoric man.

We'd a prehistoric war once, and it was an awful bore
Altho' we gained the victory, we had to pay the score
Altho' the people growled and said the government was lax
They put an extra pound of chalk upon the income tax.

Chorus: And I'm on show in the day time
I'm off show at night
My flint-head spear is polished
And my manners polished quite
A Paleolithic, imagine if you can
A most terrific , tho' pacific, Prehistoric man.

Chorus: And I'm on show in the day time
I'm off show at night
My flint-head spear is polished
And my manners polished quite
A Paleolithic, imagine if you can
A most terrific, tho' pacific, Prehistoric man.
