SINCE MOTHER BOBBED HER HAIR

At home we're feeling quite perplexed
We don't know if we're pleased or vexed
And wonder what will happen next
Since mother bobbed her hair
She now distinctly takes the bun
And fellows say, 'You are a one.'
Her second time on earth's begun
Since mother bobbed her hair.

It's troubling I must confess
She's altered all her views on dress
Each night she's wearing less and less
Since mother bobbed her hair
Old fashioned dresses make her wild
In modern gowns she's always styled
We hope the weather continues mild
Since mother bobbed her hair.

Her colouring is famed afar
Complexion fit for any star
The local chemist's bought a car
Since mother bobbed her hair
Our happy home she'll soon disjoint
She plays cards a bob a point
And mortgages the Sunday joint
Since mother bobbed her hair.

She's always after cousin Jack
His motor-bike is never slack
She loves to joy-ride on the back
Since mother bobbed her hair
She's taken golf up with a rush
And when she's in the rough or slush
Her language makes the caddies blush
Since mother bobbed her hair.

Her local fame is quite unique
The boys for introduction seek
And the curate now calls twice a week
Since mother bobbed her hair
She spends her nights at dance or rink
She's learned a special kind of wink
And poor old pa has 'took to drink'
Since mother bobbed her hair.
