WHO ARE YOU GETTING AT, EH?

A cousin of mine is a tricky young chap,
A little too tricky, you know,
He went to the East for the good of his health,
And came home a short time ago.
He said to me, 'You're married now I suppose.'
I said, 'Married? not much.' and turned up my nose.
He said, 'What? Not got spliced? It's quite time that you did.'
I said, 'Chuck it, I want none of your kid.'

Chorus: Who are you getting at, Eh?
Who are you getting at, Eh?
Who are you getting at, Eh?
You think you're clever, upon my life,
Go home and look at your wife.
I don't know what you're alluding to,
You're very tricky, I'm sure,
If I wasn't a perfect lady,
I'd give you a smack in the jaw.

One day I went up on top of a bus,
The top is my favourite place.
'Tis possible. I as I ran up the steps,
Perhaps showed a wee bit of lace.
A fellow who stood on the kerb said,
'I say, what prize barber poles, they look rosy today.'
I'd got striped stockings on, you know red and black,
And so in a tick-tack, I aswered him back,

Chorus: Who are you getting at, Eh?
Who are you getting at, Eh?
Who are you getting at, Eh?
You think you're clever, upon my life,
You go home and look at your wife.
Talking about my barber poles,
Poking fun at my hose,
I'd like to get off this blooming bus,
I'd give you a jab in the nose.

Last summer, the weather was awfully hot,
I was at the seaside, you see.
So I went and dug out a nice quiet spot,
Thought, What Ho! the briny for me.
And as I was bathing, some Johnny on shore,
He put up his glasses and said, Ha! Ha! Ha!
A deuced fine figure, a beautiful shape,
I said, 'Hi, you hop it, you double-eyed ape.'

Chorus: Who are you getting at, Eh?
Who are you getting at, Eh?
Who are you getting at, Eh?
You think you're clever, upon my life,
You go home and look at your wife.
Talking about my lovely shape,
Piping me off on the sly,
If I'd got any clothes on, I'd come out,
I'd give you a slosh in the eye.
